i like (crayola) crayons
here is a neat blog post about crayola crayons, a bit of history, and a complete colour chart of all available colours. What other brands of crayons are less waxy (not like the ones at restaurants or from kids plane packages) and therefore colour more uniformly? photo taken from link above.

Whoa.... what a cool post and blog! Completely dedicated to colour and crayons.... I can see why you love. :) Brings back memories of when we made crayon shavings and melted them together to make crayons!
Having said all that.... I must admit that Crayola is not my favorite. In my humble opinion, Roseart crayons colour much more smoothly..... ;)

You know what is funny? I've been holding off from reading your email (knowing that I don't have time to reply at the moment, so it might get lost in the "to reply to" folder forever) and here I am poking around blogs anyway. ^^
