random shots from yesterday. i dont feel like putting them in any kind of order or fixing them, but there they are.
going to sleep now because my mind is playing with itself, so i'll shut it down. ive cleaned, organized, read, & written too much today, its absolutly mind numbing. i've been waking up very tired & very early the last couple days, although not for a real lack of sleep. been having extremely vivid and fast paced dreams all week and i think they are tiring me out, even before i wake.

picked up the whirlpool by jane urquhart yesterday afternoon at 'the book market' with tizian. afterwards everyone went searching for a restaurant that wasnt there. at local heroes, i kept spacing out because everywhere i looked, there was a television screen. for no reason, it made me watch. the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly driving down prince of wales 'dancing' to a cassette - - laughing at josh and denise sticking thier heads out of the car windows ahead. we were sure that one of them would get decapitated by a passing car. oh, and that mandy moore poster.

the whirlpool was fantastic. devastatingly beautiful.

j urquhart is undoubtedly my favorite canadian author. (so far).

yet another "there are so many people in china, that..." kind of thing, but i thought it was... interesting? funny? i dont know. but anyway, DID YOU KNOW, that if they lined up adult chinese shoulder to shoulder all along the border to russia and kept walking over non stop; at the current birth rate in china, they would never run out of people. uhm yes. imagine that. [p.s. dont even know if its true. cant believe everything you read!]

for his entire life, my dad thought "crab apple trees" were "crap apple trees". last sunday afternoon on the drive home from church, solomon and i were commenting on how our crab apple trees were blooming quite prettily. my dad wondered aloud why they were called "cra(b/p)" apples, and sent sol and i off onto some rediculous tangent about crustateans on trees and such. our completly confused dad could not figure out the connection between the lobsters, scallops and the poo that he had in mind. of the apples, he wondered, "do they really taste that bad?". when we finally figured out what he was thinking, we couldnt help but laugh (for a very long time) ...errm.. with him. not at him! silly chinese accents... ;).

pear yoghurt. surprisingly good. yesterday, i had my last piano recital with my teacher and that bunch of lovely people whom i see a couple times a month to "share music" (as she calls it) together. was a bit sad. after intermission, the second half players went to backstage and proceeded to fret like the nervous people we are. we have these

habits that we all do to try and calm ourselves down. will just keeps talking and talking - sarah kind of sits there and thinks, wringing her hands a bit - irene is the picture of calmness - rebecca kind of makes a very worried face and trembles - and i stand under doorframes, making faces at r'becca. it went pretty well, although i trembled through both pieces - while yelling silently at my forearms for them to *stop! *stop!!!!!. teah.

there is a very cool button on the camera that allows me to take multiple exposures; so hurray for people's heads staring at themselves... staring at... themselves.

in other sonja news, there is none, unless you want to hear more about piano. (p.s. my students played very cutely today at our recital this afternoon. joanne even performed a song that we wrote together during class. its called "blinker". )

its ridiculous how i have entire conversations in my head with myself (but im sure you do too! yes, you!). once in a while, there are guest appearances as well. they probably wouldn’t appreciate my putting words into their mouths though. ah well.
